Mainpower Electricity Distribution Limited (MEDL) said there will be a planned power outage starting from Thursday, 26 March and continuing through Friday, 27 March in parts of Nsukka, Enugu State.
MEDL, in a statement by its head, Communications, Emeka Ezeh on Wednesday, said the outage is to enable its team of engineers to carry out the replacement of faulty breakers at the UNN injection substation.
This, the MEDL said, will involve shutting down the Willson, UNN Township, and Onuiyi 11kV feeders.
“MainPower Electricity Distribution Limited (MEDL) wishes to inform its esteemed customers in parts of Nsukka, Enugu State, that there will be a planned power outage starting tomorrow, Thursday, March 26 2026, and continuing through Friday, March 27 2026,” the statement said.

Consequently, it said this will affect power supply to Ogige market and environs, the entire UNN community down to Obukpa, Isiuwa through Ofulonu, Agu Eke Edem, Barracks area, St. Cyprian and environs, Uwani Ugwu community, Building Materials Market, Solive Industries, Umuakashi community, parts of Aku Road, and Catholic and Anglican Cathedral communities.
It added that normal electricity supply will be restored once the installation exercise is completed.
“MEDL regrets any inconvenience this exercise will cause its esteemed customers and appeals for their understanding as it is aimed at improving the service quality,” the statement said.
MEDL is an electricity company in charge of power supply in Enugu State.
