The Association of Energy Correspondents Abuja FCT (AECAF) has expressed sadness over the sudden death of its member, Gwamkat Gwamzhi, a journalist with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN).
Ms Gwamzhi, who passed away on Thursday in an Abuja hospital, was an active member of AECAF.
AECAF, in a statement signed by its Chairman, John Ofikhenua, on Saturday, described Ms Gwamzhi’s death as a significant loss to the media community and to all who knew her.
“Her sudden death is a significant loss to the media community and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was widely respected for her professionalism, humility, calm disposition, and unwavering commitment to duty, as well as for the cordial relationships she maintained with colleagues and friends,” the statement said.

AECAF extends its heartfelt condolences to the management and staff of FRCN, her immediate family, colleagues and friends, especially during this difficult time.
“We pray that Almighty God grants her soul eternal rest and comforts all those she left behind,” the statement said.
