The Association Africaine de Futsal (AAF) has announced a partnership with the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) and Confederation of African Football (CAF) to promote futsal in schools across Africa.
AAF Publicity Secretary, Edewor Oputa, in a statement on Tuesday, announced that the association would participate in a series of high-profile tournaments and events aimed at promoting futsal development in Africa this year.
“We are committed to developing futsal in primary and secondary schools, as well as tertiary institutions and football clubs throughout Africa. Our goal is to build African futsal to a global level by 2035, and we are working closely with FIFA, CAF, and football federations to make this vision a reality.
“We are thrilled to kick off the year with our Under 17 Futsal International Tournament in Kenya, which will feature some of the best young talent from across the continent.

“This is just the beginning of an exciting journey, as we also prepare to take part in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, and host our inaugural African Futsal Inter School Tournament in Togo.”
According to Mr Oputa, Brazilian futsal legend Falcao would embark on a tour of three African nations, sharing his expertise and inspiring the next generation of futsal stars.
He said the AAF has a packed calendar for 2026, with key events including: AAF Under 17 Futsal International Tournament, Kenya – May; Commonwealth Games, Glasgow, Scotland (Futsal-side event) – 23 July to 2 August; AAF African Futsal Inter School Tournament, Togo – August; and Youth Olympic Games, Senegal (Futsal -side event) – 31 October to 13 November.
He encouraged interested teams and schools to register via www.aafutsal.com to be part of this exciting journey.
