The Federal Fire Service (FFS) averted major losses on Friday after containing a fire at a printing facility in Abuja’s Central Business District.

The FFS National PRO/Head, Corporate Services, Paul Abraham, in a statement on Saturday, said the service responded to a fire outbreak involving solar inverter systems at the BINANI printing press, located in the Central Business District, Abuja, on Friday.

Mr Abraham said ‎the affected inverter systems were valued at approximately ₦5 billion.

“Through the prompt response of firefighters, the blaze was contained, with losses estimated at ₦800 million, while property worth about ₦4.2 billion was successfully saved,” he said.

‎Shortly after the operation, he said firefighters responded to another emergency call and successfully rescued a dog that had fallen into a drainage channel, demonstrating the service’s unwavering commitment to protecting lives, property, and the environment through prompt emergency response and humanitarian rescue operations.
