Niger Electricity Distribution Limited (NEDL) said it will reconnect Shiroro-Gwada and Shiroro-Erena feeders following successful stakeholder engagement facilitated by the Deputy Governor of Niger State.
NEDL disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.
On Saturday, NEDL announced it disconnected electricity supply to customers on the Gwada and Erena 33kV feeders due to persistent non-payment of electricity bills.
NEDL said the disconnection affects supply through the 132kV Shiroro Transmission Station–33kV Gwada Feeder and the 132kV Shiroro Transmission Station–33kV Erena Feeder.
At the time, NEDL said the action followed the accumulation of outstanding bills due to widespread non-payment by customers served by the feeders, despite repeated engagements and interventions by the company.
In a statement on Thursday, NEDL said the reconnection follows the conclusion of discussions and the development of a strategic framework aimed at improving electricity service delivery and establishing a sustainable payment arrangement.

NEDL appreciated the Deputy Governor of Niger State’s intervention and commended all stakeholders for their cooperation and commitment to achieving the resolution.
“We remain committed to working collaboratively with our stakeholders and the communities we serve to promote sustainable electricity services and improve customer experience,” it said.
