The Federal Fire Service (FFS) averted major losses on Friday after containing a fire at a printing facility in Abuja’s Central Business District.
The FFS National PRO/Head, Corporate Services, Paul Abraham, in a statement on Saturday, said the service responded to a fire outbreak involving solar inverter systems at the BINANI printing press, located in the Central Business District, Abuja, on Friday.
Mr Abraham said the affected inverter systems were valued at approximately ₦5 billion.

“Through the prompt response of firefighters, the blaze was contained, with losses estimated at ₦800 million, while property worth about ₦4.2 billion was successfully saved,” he said.
Shortly after the operation, he said firefighters responded to another emergency call and successfully rescued a dog that had fallen into a drainage channel, demonstrating the service’s unwavering commitment to protecting lives, property, and the environment through prompt emergency response and humanitarian rescue operations.
