2027: APC pegs total presidential form at N100 million, governorship N50 million

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released its revised timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 General Elections.

APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, in a statement on Monday said this is contained in the revised schedule of activities signed by the Party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu.

Key revisions announced

According to the revised schedule, the party adjusted timelines covering several critical stages of its internal electoral process.

“The revision includes changes to timelines for, among others, screening, appeals, and primary elections, as well as directives on the sale of forms and the Party’s bank accounts approved to receive all payments relating to the purchase of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms,” the statement said.

Under the revised plan, the sale of nomination forms is scheduled to take place from 25 April to 2 May 2026, while the submission deadline for completed forms has been fixed for 4 May 2026.

Screening of aspirants will follow from 6 – 9 May 2026, covering contestants for State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, governorship, and presidential tickets in phases.

“Screening appeals: State House of Assembly and House of Representatives — Tuesday, 12 to Wednesday, 13 May, 2026,”

Primary elections are set to begin on 15 May 2026, starting with the House of Representatives, and will proceed through the Senate, State Houses of Assembly, governorship, and presidential contests, concluding on 23 May 2026.

Directives on sale of forms

“House of Assembly: N1,000,000 for Expression of Interest and N5,000,000 for nomination making it a total of N6,000,000.

“House of Representatives: N1,000,000 for Expression of Interest and N9,000,000 for nomination making it a total of N10,000,000.

“Senate: N3,000,000 for Expression of Interest and N17,000,000 for nomination making it a total of N20,000,000.

“Governorship: N10,000,000 for Expression of Interest and N40,000,000 for nomination making it a total of N50,000,000.

“Presidential: N30,000,000 for Expression of Interest and N70,000,000 nomination making it a total of N100,000,000.

“Female aspirants, youth and physically challenged aspirants are to pay for the Expression of Interest and 50 per cent of the prescribed Nomination fees for each position.”

The party also directed aspirants to remit payments strictly through its designated accounts, noting that “all payments should be made in full directly into the designated bank account of the party.
