The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a woman in connection with a viral video showing the beating and stabbing of her daughter in the Opeki area of Ayobo, Lagos.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Command confirmed that the suspect involved in the case has been taken into custody and that a thorough investigation is ongoing.
“The affected children have been rescued and safely handed over to the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development for proper care, protection, and necessary welfare support,” the police said.

The Command said the suspect will be prosecuted in accordance with the law. It urged the members of the public to remain calm, noting that the situation is under control.
The arrest follows public outrage after footage of the assault circulated widely on social media, drawing calls for swift intervention by authorities.
