Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) generated N2.57 trillion in revenue from oil in January, a fall from N4.82 trillion it recorded in December, its latest monthly report shows.

The report also shows that the national oil company recorded a profit after tax of N385 billion for January, an increase from the N351 billion recorded in December last year.

The company, in its report summary released on Tuesday, posted a statutory payment of N726 billion to the federation account in January, down from the N1.27 trillion it remitted in December 2025.

According to the report, Nigeria’s crude oil and condensate production stood at 1.64 million barrels per day (bpd), slightly up from December’s figure of 1.54 mbpd. Of this total, crude oil accounted for 1.39 mbpd, while condensates contributed 0.25 bpd.

“Production increased month on month following the completion of Turn Around Maintenance at Agbami and Renaissance (Estuary Area – EA),” the NNPC said.

However, it said planned deliveries for January were reduced due to bad weather, evacuation, and asset integrity challenges.

In the same vein, natural gas production was 7.283 billion standard cubic feet per day (scf/d) in January, up from 6,914 billion scf/d in December 2025, representing an increase of approximately 5.81 per cent and 5.34 per cent, respectively.

Gas sales climbed, reaching 4.978bscf/d in January, an increase from 4.754 bscf/d in December 2025.

It added that the petrol availability in its retail stations nationwide was 54 per cent in January, while the Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben Gas Pipeline project (OB3) remained at 96 per cent completion, unmoved from the preceding month and the Ajaokuta- Kaduna- Kano (AKK) pipeline hit 92 per cent completion.

The state oil company said the AKK pre-commissioning activities continued while significant progress was reported in the construction of the Block Valve Stations (BVS) and Intermediate Pigging Stations (IPS).

“OB3 River Niger Crossing drilling activities progressed as scheduled,” it said.

The report said all production, sales and financial figures are provisional and subject to reconciliation with relevant stakeholders.
