TCN announces scheduled electricity outage in Lokoja areas

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced that it is carrying out scheduled preventive maintenance on 150MVA, 330/132/33kV and 60MVA, 132/33kV transformers at Lokoja 330/132/33kV transmission substation.

The maintenance, taking place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on 7 March, according to TCN, is expected to affect electricity supply to some areas in Lokoja.

The TCN General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday afternoon.

“The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) wishes to inform the public that its maintenance crew is currently carrying out a scheduled preventive maintenance on 150MVA, 330/132/33kV and 60MVA, 132/33kV transformers at Lokoja 330/132/33kV Transmission Substation, today, March 7, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.,” Ms Mbah said.

Consequently, she said Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be unable to off-take electricity to its customers in Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja; Specialist Hospital; GRA; Kabba; Federal University; Kogi Polytechnic; Zango; Kaduna Junction and environs.

She said power supply will be restored immediately after the maintenance work is completed.

“TCN apologises for any inconvenience this may cause electricity consumers in affected areas,” she said.
