The Nigerian Postal Service generated a total sum of N8.14 billion as revenue in 2025, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has said.
The bureau, in its Postal Services Data 2025 report released Thursday, said the amount rose significantly by 166.81 per cent from N3.05 billion generated in 2024.
The NBS said the total number of Post Offices and Postal Agencies remained unchanged in 2025 at 2,048 compared to the previous year.
The statistics office said the number of boxes installed decreased slightly from 788,124 in 2024 to 786,323 in 2025, representing a 0.23 per cent decline.

The NBS said the total number of Private Mail Bags (PMBs) available stood at 21,962 in 2025, reflecting a 0.46 per cent decrease from 22,064 in 2024.
It added that the volume of postal articles handled declined from 23,990,357 in 2024 to 18,237,462 in 2025, representing a 23.98 per cent decrease.
At the state level, the NBS said Lagos state recorded the highest number of installed boxes in 2025, with 143,416 boxes, while Jigawa state recorded the lowest, with 1,800 boxes installed.
