The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Benin Sub-Region, has taken delivery of a truckload of equipment spares and maintenance materials from its Project Monitoring Unit (PMU) in Abuja.
The consignment was received on Monday and has been offloaded and secured in the sub-region’s store, ready for deployment as required, TCN said in a statement signed by its management on Wednesday.

The delivery comprises 330kV and 132kV tripping coils, rapid pressure relays, current transformer (CT) ratio clamps, gantry structures and porcelain insulators.

According to TCN management, the spares will strengthen the sub-region’s capacity to carry out routine and emergency maintenance promptly.

The company said the intervention will reduce downtime on the transmission network, improve reliability, and support a more efficient delivery of bulk power to load centres of distribution companies serviced by the region.
The Benin Sub-Region covers key transmission lines and substations supplying bulk electricity to parts of Edo, Delta and Ondo states, among others, making prompt maintenance critical to stable power supply in the area.
